Joan returns to King’s Wood for her thirteenth year as Administrator. Prior to this, she was an assistant teacher in the downstairs classroom. A mother of three KWMS alumni, Joan earned her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Connecticut and taught English and Reading. The Department of Early Education and Care granted Joan certification as Preschool Lead Teacher and Director II.
Jessie is our new head teacher in the Upstairs Classroom and she is the mother of three children, all Montessori graduates. She has been teaching at the Montessori primary level since 2003. She attended Bridgewater State College as an undergrad and received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Endicott College. She received her Montessori credential at the primary level (ages 2.9-6) from Northeast Montessori Institute. The Department of Early Education and Care granted Jessie certification as Preschool Lead Teacher. We are happy to welcome Jessie to KWMS!
Liz, mother of two former King’s Wood students, returns for her sixth year at King’s Wood, and second year as a lead teacher in the downstairs class. Liz earned her BA in History and her post graduate certification in Secondary Education from Central Connecticut State University, and has been an educator for twenty years. She is certified as a Preschool Teacher by the Department of Early Education and Care, and is a Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) trained Montessori Early Childhood teacher and candidate for Montessori Early Childhood Diploma through Age of Montessori in June 2017.
Anisha, mother of two former King’s Wood students, returns for her fourteenth year as assistant teacher in the downstairs classroom. Anisha has her Masters Degree in History from the University of Delhi and in Library Science from Simmons College. She worked as a Librarian at the Boston Children’s Museum and as an assistant teacher at Woodside Montessori. She is certified by the Dept. of Early Education & Care as a Preschool Teacher.
Christie, also mother of a former King’s Wood student, is returning for her second year as Assistant Teacher in the upstairs classroom at King’s Woods. Christie earned her BA in Early childhood education and Elementary education from Bridgewater State College, MA. She has taught as a lead teacher at The Sharon Cooperative School and Animal Crackers Nursery School.When her children were enrolled she served on the KWMS Board as Parent Representative.
Christine is returning for her fifth year as Assistant Teacher in the downstairs classroom at King’s Wood. She has two wonderful children, both former King’s Wood students, Matthew age 14 and Megan age 11. Christine earned her BS in Computer Science from Framingham State College and is a certified preschool teacher with the MA Department of Early Education and Care. Before having children, she worked in IT for the Financial Services Industry. When her children were enrolled at KWMS Christine enjoyed serving as a volunteer in many ways including serving on the Board as Parent Representative. Since then she has enjoyed serving on the PTO and School Council at her children’s elementary school, coaching various sports teams, and serving on the Children’s Ministry Committee at my church. Since her own children seem to growing up faster and faster, Christine gets so much joy from working with the young children at King’s Wood.
Rahat is returning for her fifth year as Administrative Assistant. She earned her Bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of Gujarat, India and her Assistant Teacher Training form the North East Montessori Institute. She is currently working on her BA in Early childhood Education from UMASS Amherst. While her daughter Faleehah was enrolled at King’s Wood, she served on the Board of Directors as Vice president and President.
