All Day Programs

Full Day Preschool

Children who are under 4.9 years of age may enroll in both a morning and afternoon class.

Full Day Kindergarten Program

The Kindergarten Program is available for children who are at least 4 years 9 months old. Students attend morning classes as described and then meet as a smaller group for the Kindergarten Program. In the afternoon, students work with more complex materials and enjoy group activities such as writing class books, studying the human body, writing and performing plays, and other activities that arise from the group’s interests. Our Kindergartners also have the unique opportunities to prepare and enjoy lunches together and hike in the reservation land just up the street from King’s Wood.

Before and After School Care

Hours of Operation: 8:00 am - 9:00 am & from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

We offer before and after school care programs for parents who need additional hours before or after their child’s scheduled program. Students are under the care of trained staff members during both programs. The children may choose to participate in group activities or play freely. Classroom materials are available to the children during these programs.

Admissions

Thank you for your interest in King’s Wood Montessori School. We look forward to meeting your family! Please submit your application by clicking the ‘Apply Online‘ link below.

Children are accepted from age 2 years 9 months to age 6. Our classrooms have 20 children in mixed-age groups with a maximum staff-to-child ratio of 1:10.

A Montessori Primary Level is by design a three-year cycle. A two-year-old joins a Montessori program as a novice and becomes an apprentice during the second year helping incoming first-year students. It is during the third year this novice child becomes a leader and mentor as they blossom socially and academically and feel at home in their Montessori environment.

King’s Wood welcomes diversity in its student body and staff and therefore does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, national origin, political beliefs, marital status, disability, or sexual preference.
