The Beauty Of Montessori Materials

The rich colors of the materials are visually appealing to the children. The geometric solids, pink cube tower, brown stairs, and red rods are brightly colored to invite children to choose the materials off the shelves and work with them.

The materials are neatly arranged on shelves to maintain a sense of order. Adults like order, but children need it to make sense of their environment. Knowing where everything is helps them focus their energy on learning

Natural light floods the classroom, and lamps offer a warm glow when it is dark. There are fresh flowers and plants throughout the classroom to bring nature in.

The goal is to invite the child to work with the materials within a calm and visually appealing classroom.

The pictures above offer a glimpse of what a Montessori classroom looks like and how it impacts a child's social, emotional, and academic development. Call us at 508-543-6391 or submit an inquiry to schedule an observation of a classroom in session.
